A Gentle Introduction – What you can Expect from Coaching

This is about creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and honest for both of us. Coaching with me is about helping you slow things down, gain clarity, and move forward in a way that feels right for you, whether that’s in life, mindset, wellbeing, or the juggle of it all. It’s about supporting you to find what works for you.

1) Coaching is a Collaborative Process — Working Together

You are always in control of what you choose to share, the pace we go at, and what you choose to do afterwards with what we explore.

Coaching with me is a collaborative process. It’s about creating a space where you feel safe to explore what’s going on for you, without pressure or expectation.

This is about finding your own answers.

I will guide, question, reflect, and support you along the way. I may share ideas or tools where helpful – what I don’t do is tell you what to do, because you are your own expert in your own life.

This is your space to explore what feels right for you.

2) Our Agreement Together

We will meet at our agreed time for each session.

By working together, we both agree to approach this process with openness, honesty, and respect.

I may sometimes gently challenge your thinking or offer a different perspective, always with care and your best interests at heart.

To make this work in the best possible way, here’s what we both agree to.

From me

You can expect a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space, somewhere you can just be yourself. I’ll be fully present with you during our sessions, and I will guide you with honest, caring and constructive conversations.

I may also share tools and approaches, including coaching and NLP techniques, to help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

From you

I simply ask that you come as you are. That you show up as openly as you can, take responsibility for your choices and actions, and are willing to explore things a little differently.

If something does not feel right at any point, I ask that you let me know — this is your space, and it is important it feels that way.

3) Session Rhythm

Sessions are usually held every two weeks.

Each session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.

This gives you time in between to reflect, process, and gently put things into practice in your everyday life.

4) Sessions and Practicalities

To keep things running smoothly for both of us, here are a few practical details to be aware of.

Sessions are to be paid for as agreed. If payment has not been made in line with this agreement, sessions may not be able to go ahead.

If either of us (Coach or Client) needs to rearrange a session, I ask that at least 48 hours’ notice is given where possible, so we can find another suitable time.

Missed sessions without notice, or changes made within 48 hours, may still be charged. I do understand that life happens though, and in exceptional circumstances this may be reviewed at my discretion.

If you are late for a session, we will still finish at the scheduled time.

5) Between Sessions

You may notice thoughts, feelings, or reflections come up between sessions — this is a natural part of the process. You are welcome to note things down to bring to our next session so we can explore them together.

You are always welcome to message me between sessions — whether something has come up, you want to share a win, or you just need a little bit of support in the moment.

I will always do my best to respond during my working hours. While this isn’t an instant response service, I will come back to you as soon as I can.

If you message in the evening, over the weekend, or on a bank holiday, I will respond when I am next working.

6) Confidentiality

Everything you share with me is treated with respect, care, and with complete confidentiality.

I work in line with recognised coaching ethics, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space for you.

Any notes I make during or after our sessions are kept securely and confidentially and will not be shared or disclosed without your permission.

The only exception to this would be if there was a serious concern about your safety or the safety of someone else, or if I am required to do so by law — in which case I may need to seek appropriate support.

At times, I may discuss elements of our work anonymously for supervision or professional support. This would always be done in a way that fully protects your identity and confidentiality.

If you are part of a group coaching programme, I ask that you also respect the confidentiality of others within the group, including not sharing names or personal experiences outside of the sessions, so that everyone feels safe to share openly.

7) Ending Our Coaching Time Together

You are free to end coaching at any time — just let me know.

If you have paid in advance for sessions not yet used, those remaining sessions will be refunded, unless we agree with an alternative arrangement together.

If you choose to cancel ongoing sessions, I ask for at least 7 days’ notice where possible, so I can manage my schedule.

Any outstanding payments for sessions already delivered will still need to be settled.

If for any reason coaching is ended before all pre-paid sessions have taken place, any unused sessions will be refunded.

Once coaching has ended, there is no further obligation for ongoing sessions unless we agree otherwise.

8) Important Information

Coaching is designed to support you with your personal growth, wellbeing, and the way you move forward in your life.

Coaching is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and you are encouraged to seek this where needed.

By taking part, you understand that you are responsible for your own wellbeing, decisions, and actions following our sessions.

I am here to support you in finding what feels right for you and may gently suggest seeking additional support alongside our work together if needed.

I am not liable for any loss, damage, or costs that may arise as a result of our coaching process, except where required by law.

This agreement reflects our shared understanding of how we will work together.

9) Final Notes

For coaching to be as meaningful and effective as possible, your willingness to engage in the process really matters.

You do not need to get everything perfect — just come as you are, with an openness to explore, reflect and try things in a different way.

I encourage you to be honest, both with yourself and with me, and to share if something isn’t working so we can adjust things together.

Coaching works best when you’re ready to take small, consistent steps forward, and to gently challenge thoughts, feelings or patterns that may be holding you back.

Please know that I will always work with your best interests at heart — supporting you as a whole person, not just focusing on specific goals.

This is your investment in yourself, and that in itself is something really worth recognising.

When the time comes to finishing coaching, we’ll do this in a way that allows space to reflect, acknowledge your progress, and bring things to a natural close.

This is your time.

You don’t need to have it all figured out — just come as you are.

If everything feels right for you, you can confirm your agreement below.
